John Galliano Scandal

The latest twist in the story that won't go away sees John Galliano's  award revoked by François Hollande.

After being photographed lunching at the Paris Ritz with Anna Wintour during Haute Couture Fashion Week, it seemed things might finally be on the up for disgraced fashion designer John Galliano.

However WWD report that following his conviction for hurling anti-Semitic abuse at a woman outside a Paris café in February 2011, Galliano has been stripped of his Legion of Honour Award by French President, François Hollande.

The Gibraltar-born British fashion designer, who was ousted from creative director roles at both Christian Dior and his eponymous label following his arrest, was decorated as a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour at the Elysée Palace in 2010. The award is traditionally given for services to France, with other decorated fashion luminaries numbering Hubert de Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Azzedine Alaïa, Franca Sozzani, Marc Jacobs and Anna Wintour.

With rumours circling that he is poised to make a comeback in the ever-forgiving fashion world, Galliano will no doubt be dismayed that talk of the ugly incident - which the designer attributed to work-related stress - has flared-up again.

Separately, it is believed that Galliano has lodged an employee/employer dispute claim for over €15 million (£11.9 million) at the Conseil des Prud'hommes, with a Paris hearing scheduled for February 4, 2013.

Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins

This morning more than 30 trucks filled with 5-cent coins arrived at Apple’s headquarters in California. Initially,  the security company that protects the facility said the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that  they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

the funny part is that the signed document does not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send the creators of the iPhone their billion dollars in the way they deem best.

This dirty but genius geek troll play is a new headache to Apple executives as they will need to put in long hours counting all that money, to check if it is all there and to try to deposit it crossing fingers to hope a bank will accept all the coins.

Lee Kun-hee, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, told the media that his company is not going to be intimidated by a group of “geeks with style” and that if they want to play dirty, they also know how to do it.

You can use your coins to buy refreshments at the little machine for life or melt the coins to make computers, that’s not my problem, I already paid them and fulfilled the law.

A total of 20 billion coins, delivery hope to finish this week.

Let’s see how Apple will respond to this.

Tom Ford's Advice for Gisele When She Stops Being Hot

Tom Brady covers VMAN‘s fall issue–and while the accompanying interview and editorial focus on New Englands Patriot quarterback and his growing family with supermodel wife Gisele, it’s what Brady’s interviewer Tom Ford had to say that really caught our attention.

While the two Toms are discussing Gisele’s work as a model, Ford says, “[Modeling] is a horrible job. I feel really sorry for models. I’m serious. It’s a horrible job. They get rejected and treated like they’re not even people.” Ford is not one to sugarcoat.

But wait, there’s more!

Ford then offered up some nice and encouraging advice to Brady’s 32-year-old supermodel (and officially pregnant!) wife:

“This sounds negative, but when you’re considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, it’s very, very hard when that starts to slip away. It’s hard to feel good about yourself when people react to you differently. And, Gisele, I hope you’re not reading this, because it’s going to sound so negative but I know through some of my best friends who are really famous actresses–I’m not going to mention their names–who were at one point considered to be among the most beautiful women in the world at different periods of time, and how hard it is for them emotionally. So I hope Gisele is prepared for that, because it’s so difficult.”

And, just for fun, here is one of the more awkward moments in the interview:

Brady: By the way, how many times?
Ford: Say that again?
Brady: How many times have you worked with [Gisele].
Ford: Oh God! I thought you meant how many times did I sleep with her. I was about to say ‘Never.’ You sounded so tough.

USD 18 Million of fake Louboutins seized

Christian Louboutin is the latest high fashion designer to fall victim to Chinese counterfeiters as millions of pounds worth of fake Louboutins are seized by US customs.

More than 20,000 pairs of counterfeit Christian Louboutin shoes have been seized by customs at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport complex. It is thought that the shoes were destined for sale through one of the many websites that sell fake designer goods.

The haul, which arrived in the US from China, was split into five separate shipments - four of which were seized on Tuesday, with the fifth being seized late last month, revealed Jaime Ruiz, spokesman for US Customs and Border Protection, in a statement regarding the situation.

Mr Ruiz stated that the 20,457 pairs of shoes, all of which bared Louboutin's trademark red sole, had an "estimated manufacturer's suggested retail price" of $18 million.

"Worn by celebrities and royalty in the fashion world, the lacquered red sole in (the) shoes is a distinctive symbol of the famous French designer Christian Louboutin," he commented further. "However, US Customs and Border Protection specialists have a different view of the lacquered red sole. They see a trademark protected by US law."

The shoes, which are said to be "very good counterfeits", will most likely be destroyed.
The shoe brand is just one of many high-fashion brands that suffer from widespread counterfeiting. Earlier this year, Hermès and Burberry were both awarded £63 million in damages in separate cases against websites selling counterfeit goods illegally bearing their brand names.

Christian Louboutin is also currently embroiled in two separate legal battles with Yves Saint Laurent and high-street store Zara , both of whom sold shoes featuring a red sole. Louboutin argue that the use of a red sole could cause confusion, mistake and deception among the relevant purchasing public as to the origin of the infringing footwear.

NIVEA says "NO" to Rihanna

Pop singer Rihanna's sexy image is clashing with her role as a Nivea spokesmodel, according to the brand's new CEO.

Bajan pop singer Rihanna's wild lifestyle has cost her a lucrative modelling deal with skincare brand Nivea.

In an interview with German newspaper Welt , Nivea's new CEO, Stefan Heidenreich, aired his concern about the role the 24-year-old played in modelling for the brand.

"Rihanna is a no go... I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna" he said, explaining: "Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability."
Rihanna was chosen to front Nivea's 100th birthday campaign last year, and a head and half-body shot of her featured upon limited-edition tins of the body cream.

The singer, who was famously told to cover up and "find god" by a farmer in Northern Ireland whilst filming a music video on his land, has been admitted to hospital twice this year for treatment rumoured to be related to dehydration and exhaustion.

Rihanna responded by tweeting a picture of Heidenreich captioned: "No caption necessary".
Looks like Heidenreich, who has tasked himself with reviving Nivea's fortunes and creating a new company logo, will have to do it without the help of one of the most famous women on the planet.

Karl Lagerfeld: Choupette is 'the one'

Karl Lagerfeld wears cat ears in a shoot accompanying yet another interview about his pampered pet cat Choupette.

You know what they say - after a while owners start to look like their pets, well it appears that even world-famous fashion designers aren't exempt from the rule.

arl Lagerfeld has appeared in the American edition of Harper's Bazaar donning some cat ears as he shows off his beloved cat Choupette.

Choupette - or Princess Choupette as Karl told i-D he preferred to call her - has caused quite a storm since she became the apple of Karl's eye and it was revealed she had two maids of her own and, bizarrely, knew how to use an iPad.

Poor Choupette had been poorly during the night before Lagerfeld's interview with Harper's , but don't panic, the doctor was called and she was soon on the mend. "She had eaten something she wasn't supposed to eat. They had changed her food because she's grown-up now, and the food was not right yet.," said Karl.

Or maybe one of her two maids , Francois and Marjorie, had messed up her usual dinner routine and she simply couldn't stomach it: "She goes in the kitchen and sits in front of the food. She doesn't like to eat on the floor, so I have to put the food on the table. Her dishes are by Goyard. She has one for water, one for her little croquette, and one for her pâté. You have to serve everything, and she makes a choice."

Kim Kardashian Facebooks Photo of Kendall Jenner Topless

So, Kendall Jenner wants to be the next Gisele Bundchen? This is one way to start.

Kim Kardashian has posted a photo of her half-sister to Facebook, a rather provocative photo at that, as Kim's 10.5 million followers are now privy to an image of Kendall appearing to be topless.

Jenner, of course, has made no secret of her desire to be a rich and famous model. She took some heat for posing in a string bikini at 14.

But at least that counts as clothing of some kind!

Kate Moss goes for Olympic gold

Supermodel Kate Moss poses in gold McQueen gown for British Vogue shoot to mark the Olympic Closing Ceremony. But is this the dress she'll wear on the night?

Her sporting credentials extend to walking her dog in the country and practising yoga, but Kate Moss has got into the Olympic spirit in the latest issue of Vogue.

The 38-year-old supermodel poses in the pages of the monthly style bible in a gold encrusted, bias-cut gown conceived by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen to celebrate the London 2012 Closing Ceremony.

In collaboration with the British Fashion Council, Vogue commissioned visionary photographer Nick Knight to capture Moss and fellow top British models wearing unique designs by the country's top design talent.

Fellow super, Naomi Campbell, also sports McQueen in the shoot, while aristocratic beauty Stella Tennant can be seen in Christopher Kane. Lilys Cole and Donaldson wear Erdem and Vivienne Westwood respectively, while Burberry favourite Jourdan Dunn dons Jonathan Saunders. Gap-toothed Georgia May Jagger has been outfitted in Victoria Beckham while man-of-the-moment David Gandy wears Paul Smith.

With rumours abounding that Vogue's line-up of models will star in the actual London 2012 Closing Ceremony, is this a teaser of the frocks that are to grace Stratford's Olympic Stadium? However one thing is for sure: with top Brazilian model Alessanda Ambrosio in the house to participate in the handover of the Olympic Flag from London to Brazil, the host nation of the next Summer Olympic Games, August 12 is set to be the most stylish date of the year.

Clint Eastwood's daughter under fire after destroying a $100,000 Hermes Birkin handbag

Francesca Eastwood and her photographer boyfriend Tyler Shields in Twitter and Facebook storm after setting fire to a crocodile Hermès Birkin bag in the name of art.

As the daughter of one of Hollywood's most prolific actor/directors, and star of realty TV show Mrs. Eastwood & Company chronicling the lives of her extended family, Francesca Eastwood is well used to being in the eye of the storm.

But Clint Eastwood's 18-year-old daughter is on the receiving end of vicious public outcry after a photographic stunt with her artist boyfriend Tyler Shields backfired.
Eastwood and Shields - known for his work with video portraits and celebrity photography - decided to publicly demolish a $100,000 crocodile Hermès Birkin bag by setting it on fire before taking a chainsaw to it, all in the name of art.

The results of the project can be seen on Shields' website, and were featured in Mrs. Eastwood & Company with Francesca's step-mother Dina expressing her disgust at the fact that her she even owned a bag worth so much and stating that she does not understand the true value of money.

And it seems Dina is not the only one horrified by the stunt - angry viewers have taken to Francesa's Twitter and Facebook pages to express their anger, TMZ report.
"Some of us actually have to work and live check 2 check, spoiled rotten b***h to burn 100k bag" wrote one angry viewer.

"Wow.... The $100k wasted on this pointless shoot could of been used to benefit a number of charities or ppl in real need. Just crazy," another said.
These comments are on the tame end of the spectrum, with other more vitriolic account holders going so far as to suggest that Francesca should kill herself.

For her part, Francesca is so far unfazed by the reaction with sources close to her telling TMZ she knew people would be shocked, but that they just don't understand art.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West starting a shoe line together

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West are teaming up to launch a joint shoe line.

The couple, who have had success individually with their own clothing collections, have apparently had a meeting with Francois-Henri Pinault, who heads the company which owns Louis Vuitton, reported Radar Online.

"Kim and Kanye had lunch with Francois-Henri the other day at the yacht club because they're trying to negotiate a shoe deal with him.

"Kim and Kanye are obviously both big fans of Louis Vuitton. Nothing is set in stone yet, but they're really excited about the potential footwear line," a source said.

Francois, who is married to actress Salma Hayek, is the head of PPR, the French luxury lifestyle brand.
