Gary Oldman In "modeling" Love for Prada

British actor Gary Oldman reveals why modelling for Miuccia Prada wasn't just for his sole benefit.

Back in January, British actor Gary Oldman played what is arguably his most unexpected role to date: a high-end fashion model. Along with highly-respected 'colleagues' Willem Dafoe, Tim Roth and Jamie Bell, Oldman, 54, cut a dash as he stepped out on to the Prada catwalk during Milan Men's Fashion Week.
"It was a gas, mainly because of Mrs Prada and her team, who are meticulous and treated me royally" he reveals.

Oldman has since gone back for seconds, agreeing to front the autumn/winter 2012 menswear campaign with Bell, Dafoe and Garrett Hedlund under the expert lens of fashion photographer David Sims

But the mustachioed actor lets slip that he had ulterior motives for working with Miuccia Prada and her team.

"My youngest, Charlie, wants to be a designer, so he's been lucky to meet Miuccia and be hanging out with the right people."

Hollywood’s leading men unite for Prada Campaign

It appears that Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe did such a good job of walking in the autumn/winter 2012 Prada menswear show, that the Italian label couldn't resist recreating the magic for their newest advertising campaign.

Captured by revered fashion photographer David Sims, the quartet has been shot in a "contemporary character study", according to the brand.
Described as "stylish men off screen as well as on", the actors pose against a cardinal red background for their 'performance' in front of the camera.

Brits Gary Oldman ( Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ) and Jamie Bell ( Billy Elliot ) might represent a 28-year age gap, but were chosen by the luxury label because they are "influential icons of fashion" and "represent a cross-generational broadening of the face of Prada menswear."

The dramatic images - created to evoke a different archetype by each leading man - also overspill for Prada's eyewear campaign. - Telegraph
