Gary Oldman In "modeling" Love for Prada

British actor Gary Oldman reveals why modelling for Miuccia Prada wasn't just for his sole benefit.

Back in January, British actor Gary Oldman played what is arguably his most unexpected role to date: a high-end fashion model. Along with highly-respected 'colleagues' Willem Dafoe, Tim Roth and Jamie Bell, Oldman, 54, cut a dash as he stepped out on to the Prada catwalk during Milan Men's Fashion Week.
"It was a gas, mainly because of Mrs Prada and her team, who are meticulous and treated me royally" he reveals.

Oldman has since gone back for seconds, agreeing to front the autumn/winter 2012 menswear campaign with Bell, Dafoe and Garrett Hedlund under the expert lens of fashion photographer David Sims

But the mustachioed actor lets slip that he had ulterior motives for working with Miuccia Prada and her team.

"My youngest, Charlie, wants to be a designer, so he's been lucky to meet Miuccia and be hanging out with the right people."

YSL to change its Name, dropping the 'Yves'

Yves Saint Laurent's new creative director Hedi Slimane will rebrand the iconic fashion house as Saint Laurent Paris.

Yves Saint Laurent will drop the 'Yves' from their name, the brand has confirmed.

Newly-appointed creative director Hedi Slimane is keen to "thrust Saint Laurent into a new era modern", reports WWD , and thinks removing the founder of the brand's first name from the famous moniker is the way forward.

The house will be rebranded Saint Laurent Paris, although the iconic YSL logo will remain the same. The move is not be an entirely new one, the majority of the major fashion houses go by a singular surname - Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Prada.

When appointed, Slimane - the former creative director of Dior Homme - was given "total creative responsibility for the brand image and all its collections" and is said to be focusing on "recapturing the impulses that inspired the founder to launch the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche ready-to-wear line in 1966 - among them youth, freedom and modernity."

Slimane, who is also working on a new store concept for the brand, will show his debut womenswear collection during Paris Fashion Week this September, and the new branding is reportedly set to be unveiled shortly beforehand.

As yet, Yves Saint Laurent have not released an official statement regarding the change, while Pierre Berge, Saint Lauren't lover and business partner of 50 years, is yet to comment.

Despite the change we think it's unlikely that fashion's most famous acronym will ever disappear.

Hollywood’s leading men unite for Prada Campaign

Gary Oldman, Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe and Garrett Hedlund strike a pose for Prada's autumn/winter 2012 adverts.

It appears that Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe did such a good job of walking in the autumn/winter 2012 Prada menswear show, that the Italian label couldn't resist recreating the magic for their newest advertising campaign.

Captured by revered fashion photographer David Sims, the quartet has been shot in a "contemporary character study", according to the brand.
Described as "stylish men off screen as well as on", the actors pose against a cardinal red background for their 'performance' in front of the camera.

Brits Gary Oldman ( Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ) and Jamie Bell ( Billy Elliot ) might represent a 28-year age gap, but were chosen by the luxury label because they are "influential icons of fashion" and "represent a cross-generational broadening of the face of Prada menswear."

The dramatic images - created to evoke a different archetype by each leading man - also overspill for Prada's eyewear campaign. - Telegraph

Madonna's designer-laden MDNA tour wardrobe

Madonna has called on a host of famous designers to create her MDNA tour wardrobe, and has even got Prada to make high heels for her male dancers.

Madonna has managed to secure herself a wardrobe brimming with one-off designer creations for her MDNA tour, which kicked off last night. Along with designs by the likes of Alexander Wang and Jeremy Scott, the Queen of Pop has revisited her iconic Jean Paul Gaultier conical bra look with a wire-like bustier created especially by the designer and worn over some masculine tailoring.

"We played with the ideas of a suit and a corset. But the corset is now like a cage," Gaultier told WWD. "What I have done this time is a nod to the conical bra corset of the Blond Ambition tour but reinterpreted in 3-D, in patent leather on the outside with metallic leather on the inside. It's all about masculine and feminine, Madonna and Jean Paul Gaultier classics reinterpreted for 2012."

Meanwhile, Prada have created high-heeled shoes for Madge's male back-up dancers, following along nicely from her recent introduction of 'mantyhose' in her Girls Gone Wild video.

Unfortunately, the gladiator-style Givenchy getup created by Riccardo Tisci for Madonna's epic Superbowl performance will not be making an appearance, nor will any other creations by the designer, owing to schedule conflicts. - Telegraph

Kate Middleton Spotted Repeating Outfits!!

Emilia Wickstead Pink Dress... Yep! That's the one you're seeing down there.
Catherine wore the same Emilia Wickstead rose pink dress for two different occasions honoring Queen Elizabeth's diamond jubilee. She first wore the look on May 18th at a luncheon at Windsor Castle with nude satin Prada shoes, and later paired the pretty pastel look with a matching hat, L.K. Bennett heels, and a matching clutch for a garden party at Buckingham Palace. The events were only 11 days apart in May 2012.

Drums Rolling.......... Taaa-rrraaaaaaaa!

1st PLACE:  CÉLINE NANO

The baby-sized luggage mini with an elongated strap option so you can take the tiny tote wherever you go.

A jet-black contrast to the singer's relaxed silver attire, Rihanna makes another style statement with her Céline Nano which she's hardly been photographed without over recent weeks.

2nd PLACE:  PRADA PYRAMIDE

A chic and sleek three-dimensional number crafted from Saffiano leather

Hair dye maven and singer Katy Perry opts for a spectacular studded version of the Pyramide, adding the fashion fois gras of 2012's shoe selection: Prada's very own flame stilettos.

3rd PLACE:  CHANEL BOY BAG

Chanel's Boy bag showed the venerable French fashion house taking a more edgy stance on chic, choosing model and socialite Alice Dellal to front the campaign.

Long-legged lovely and Chanel ambassadress, Poppy Delvigne chooses a chic, white version of the Boy bag to contrast against her more nonchalant black bowler hat.

4th PLACE: RALPH LAUREN COLLECTION SADDLE SHOULDER BAG

Bolting out of the starting gate for spring/summer 2012, Ralph Lauren's Saddle Shoulder bag has been an instant equestrian themed hit in celebrity circles, spotted slung across the body of the most fashionable faces in town.

Frappucino and shades in tow, actress Jessica Alba oozes American, street-side chic with her bright orange saddle bag strewn over her shoulder.

5th PLACE: MULBERRY DEL REY

Designed to reflect singer Lana Del Rey's style and beauty, the Del Rey is a functional tote with an uptown twist. With a classic postman's lock, 'its shape implies structure yet it has gorgeous squidgeablity,' notes creative director Emma Hill.

Jennifer Lawrence 's Mulberry Del Rey tote is a far cry away from the bow and arrow accessory usually associated with the actress, after her leading role in The Hunger Games.
